Not Sure What Color Grout to Use?
The most exciting part about a reno is picking out the new tile. However, not many people consider the grout they will use that will accompany the tiles. But this is important, as it can make or break the aesthetic appeal of your tile and the overall look of your room. Which is why our professional T.G. Installations tile contractor has provided you with three things to consider when choosing the right grout color for your tile aesthetic.
When Using White Tiles with White Grout
When a white tile is paired with white grout, the lines between each tile look seamless. As the entire surface will blend together to provide a more uniform aesthetic. When you enter a kitchen or bathroom that has both white tiles and grout, you will notice a number of things, however, it is unlikely that one of those things will be the actual tile. The all-white tile and grout will not draw attention like other tiles and grout.
When Using White Tiles with Dark Grout
When you use dark grout, it becomes the entire focus of the tile. The patterns of the tile create a bolder aesthetic appeal. For example, a simple subway tile pattern, going dark with the grout adds contrast and makes the tile pop. Once you start to add contrast between the grout and tiles, the shape of your tile is exposed and the grout forms the pattern, not the other way round.
When Using Black or Colored Tiles
If you decide to use a colored tile, pairing a vibrant or black tile with the right grout color is a bit trickier. The previous rules are basically the same when you’re dealing with black or colored tile. A light grout makes your tile pattern stand out and can even add more interest. If you choose a dark or black tile, consider using a grey or charcoal shade of grout, as this will create a softer look.
